It is an honor to be a part of each and every birth and I consider it a blessing to be able to serve as a doula. I founded Wild Mother Path to help nurture women in their pregnancy and postpartum period so they thrive and step into motherhood with confidence. I started my work serving women as a registered nurse in a NICU where I saw firsthand many women struggling in postpartum. A doula team also guarantees you a fresh doula at your side—there are no time limits, even in the event of an extended labor. Should your doula begin to feel less capable of being fully present and alert, your other doula can jump in, offering new energy and ideas to support you and your partner.

The experience of bringing new life into the world is intimate and sacred, but it wasn’t intended to be gone through without support. I can’t wait to walk beside you for the birth God called you to have. I LOVE MY LGBTQA community and I would absolutely love the opportunity to work with the families in Charlotte NC, and the surrounding area. We find your family the doula you need for a blissful postpartum and a good night’s sleep.

Why are doulas important?

Two prenatal visits to discuss your goals and practice labor management techniques. Expertise scored doulas on more than 25 variables across five categories and analyzed the results to hand pick a list of the best doulas in Charlotte, NC. I'm looking forward to working with you and/or your family, so please feel free to reach out for a free consultation to talk about your current needs.

Grandparent Education

I specialize in home births, Inductions, VBAC, planned cesareans, natural births, and supporting first-time parents throughout the pregnancy from conception to birth. I work with mothers on using the CUB as a birthing method. Being a doula is one of the most rewarding roles I have ever had the honor of experiencing. I have served over 100 families in my time here in Charlotte NC.

Caring for others has been something deeply rooted within me. My passion to assist families with newborn babies is what ultimately led me to becoming a Doula. I look forward to the opportunity to educate and help other families enjoy their experience as much as I did. From childbirth education, birth doula support, postpartum support, placenta encapsulation, and more. Katie Griffin, Founder of Kopa Birth,® is a Registered Nurse, Lamaze certified childbirth educator, and mom of 7.

I have learned along the way that pregnancy, birth, and the journey into motherhood are life changing experiences.

I’ll be there for you—holding your hand every step of the way. My calling as a champion for childbirth is the best thing ever as I get to be a witness to miracles. Not only do I get to see babies take their first breath, but I also get to watch the transformation that takes place in you as you realize just how powerful and strong you really are. For the past six years I have loved every second of being at the bedside…well almost every second, because I could do without the charting and politics if I’m being honest. The important part is I have loved—like light my soul on fire, covered in goosebumps LOVED—supporting women in the homestretch of their journey into motherhood. I only get the homestretch, the final hours of a 10 month long journey.

My own experiences and struggles have given me a passion to help other mothers create the best opportunity for a successful natural childbirth. Just as a colony of bees supports the queen, the CLT Doula is here to support you. The working bees spend time foraging, nest building, and taking care of the brood. Feel confident that our doulas can assist and support you and your family during this incredible journey. Our Labor Doulas will provide you with knowledge and confidence and our Postpartum & Newborn Doulas will encourage your unique parenting philosophies. The doulas that work in partnership with Doulas of Charlotte have been hand-selected by Emily and Elizabeth to ensure that they reflect the values and professionalism the practice holds dear. The agency promotes these partnerships and long-term relationships to help raise the current standards of the doula community so they can best serve their clients. I am a birth doula certified through DONA International. I live in Mooresville, NC with my partner, Hilton; my two children Bowen and Laurel; and a spoiled rotten corgi named Boone. During my first pregnancy I attempted to take control over that fear and uncertainty around childbirth by learning as much as I could.

I also love cooking, live music, photography, and playing the piano. During my own postpartum period, I learned the immense blessing of wise feminine support in my space, so I was able to focus on caring for and loving my baby - and I knew there were women in my community who were not so lucky. This website is a directory to help individuals and couples easily find birth professionals and resources in and around the Charlotte area. To search for local birth and/or postpartum doulas, visit the Doulas section. You can find contact information for doulas here and helpful information about each doula's practice and philosophy. Utilizing an agency for your doula services allows you peace of mind in knowing exactly who will be serving you.

I also have my International Sports Science (“ISSA”) certification expanding how I can be a resource for birth clients who are actively or desiring to exercise safely in each trimester. Pre- and Postnatal exercise coaching can support the physiological and psychological aspects of your birth journey. I serve families within an hour of south Charlotte at home or in a hospital setting. Continuous support, during labor, at your home and designated birth location, as well as 2 hours after the birth, until breastfeeding is established.

I've worked specifically with women, people with high blood pressure, diabetes, as well as the general population. I was also in full-time ministry, working with college students and teenagers. In that capacity, I learned to meet people where they're at, to comfort and to hold space for someone. These experiences brought me to a new understanding of wholeness - body, mind, and spirit.

You DESERVE a birth doula. These are some of the beautiful babies, moms, parents and couples that I have had the pleasure to be by their side for their births! From all natural un-medicated birth to inductions, complications, epidurals, VBAC, C-sections, multiples and much much more. They chose be to be their birth doula in Charlotte, NC. Some of these birthing persons wanted an unmedicated birth and some wanted guidance on pain medications. All of these moms and birthing persons are amazing and had beautiful births. Congratulations on this exciting and transformative time in your life!
